Jimmy Butler's No. 23 Sixers Jersey the Same as Andrew Wiggins' Dad

Even though Jimmy Butler electing to wear number 23 for the Philadelphia 76ers seems to be standard procedure for a guy who wore no. 23 in one-plus seasons in Minnesota, the fact it will just so happen to be the same jersey number for the same team as Mitchell Wiggins is a bizarrely convenient and coincidental flex for Butler.

Butler forced his way out of Minnesota after having a rocky relationship with the team's core pieces Karl-Anthony Town and Andrew Wiggins, even going so far so call the pair 'soft'.

The beef became even more inflamed when Wiggins' brother tweeted 'Hallejuah' when it was first reported that Butler wanted out of Minnesota.

Wiggins' brother then began a bizarre Twitter exchange with former NBA Champion Stephen Jackson that eventually led to Butler alluding to the fight on his Instagram account.

The two gifted ball-centric wings never meshed with one another in Minnesota, with Butler, widely considered a Top 10 NBA player, having to share the ball with a former no. 1 overall pick who was the team's leader-scoring a year prior.

After averaging a career-high 23.6 points in 2015-2016, Wiggins would only muster 17.7 his only full season alongside Butler, and 16.6 in 10 games with Butler this season.

Wiggins and brother Nick, will now have to awkwardly watch the maligned Butler wear the same jersey as their father Mitchell, who averaged 4.3 points as a Sixer in his final NBA season in 1991-1992.
