About Polaris Awards Gala

Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH) announced this month that the organization will honor three individuals who go above and beyond to inspire hope in our region. The leaders will be recognized at the Polaris Awards Gala the evening of October 10 at The Bushnell Center for Performing Arts for their vision, skill, and courage in serving the Greater Hartford community.

According to Tisa Rabun-Marshall, Chair of the Polaris Awards, LGH believes we need “to recognize those who are guiding lights for others to follow. During these difficult and turbulent times, we need “North Star-like” leaders who can show us the way.”

The 2018 Polaris Award winners are: Candida Flores, Executive Director of Family Life Education, has dedicated her professional and volunteer energies to serving youth, particularly those in greatest need of support; Olivia Ilano-Davis, founder and Artistic Director of Spectrum In Motion, has offered city youth with opportunities to become more confident and collaborative leaders through dance; and, Judy Keane turned tragedy into triumph by establishing a foundation that serves Wethersfield children in the name of her husband who died in the World Trade Center attack on 9/11.
